Dra Joana Cunha Tavares

My name is Joana Cunha Tavares, I was born in Portugal in 1989 and I developed a passion for the health, well-being and development of children and families at a very early age. I undertook an integrated Master’s degree in dentistry in Portugal, which I completed between 2008 and 2013. Attracted by the growth and development of oro-facials, I then completed post-graduate training in pediatric interceptive orthodontics (2013–2014), then post-graduate training in clinical orthodontics (2015–2018).

In 2015, I moved to Switzerland, where I was able to enrich and refine my expertise through a continuous program of advanced training. I took the Invisalign Master Class (2017–2018), the Motion Career training (2018), and obtained the DW Lingual Systems certification in France in 2021. Concerned about ensuring the comfort and safety of my patients, I trained in conscious sedation with nitrous oxide (2022). I have also completed the Damon (France, 2022) and Spark (Switzerland, 2023) certifications, as well as training in orthodontic mini-screw placement in Spain (2023).
At the same time, I deepened my skills in paediatric dentistry by completing a training course at the Swiss Society of Paediatric Dentistry (2023–2024).

In 2020, I became co-owner of OralStudio. Married and mother of a little boy, I find my balance between my professional and family life, while cultivating a passion for travel, which feeds my openness to the world.

Today, with an international background and cutting-edge expertise, I practice in Switzerland with the desire to offer each patient — child or adult — personalized, precise, natural and long-lasting treatments, guided by kindness, listening and constant attention to detail.
